The History of the Raspberry Pi
History of Raspberry Pie
Raspberry Pi (Raspberry Pie) was founded by four founders: Eben Upton, Rob Mullins, Jack Lang, Alan Mycroft at the University of Cambridge, England in 2006. They were concerned about the number and computer science skills of students entering the university. They wanted a small and inexpensive computer for use in education. They jointly developed a prototype Raspberry Pi board at the University of Cambridge's computer laboratory. In 2008, the team established the Raspberry Pi Foundation. Three years later, the first Raspberry Pi Model B and Raspberry Pi Model A were born.
Following the release of the Raspberry Pi Model A, the Raspberry Pi Foundation formed a new entity called Raspberry Pi Trading and appointed Eben Upton as CEO to develop the technology and run a charitable foundation for basic computer science education in schools and developing countries.
